"I have the honor to forward to Your Lordship. Copies of four nail letters and a Minute. (laid by me before Council on the 24th Instant) from which Her Majesty's Government will learn that the question of an efficient Police in this Colony is at present amongst other matters engaging my anxious attention.
This is one of the subjects which I requested Lieut. Colonel Malcolm to bring to special notice, on his arrival; and I may therefore trust that I shall
